We offer a small number of Assisted Scholarship places to pupils joining us in Year 12.
The Tilsley Sixth Form Scholarship
The Tilsley Sixth Form Scholarship provides a wonderful opportunity for a Sixth Former with a household income of £40,000 (or demonstrating financial need) or less, wishing to attend Loughborough Amherst School in September 2024.
The scholarship is funded by a generous donation from an OLCS (Our Lady’s Convent School) alumna and, with additional SAP (School Assisted Place) funding from Loughborough Amherst School, could cover up to 100% of school fees.
As a condition of the award the holder will commit to a written update in their first term and at the end of each school year to share with the donor the opportunities they have had thanks to the funding, and the difference the scholarship has made to them.
Music Scholarships are available at 11+ (Year 7), 13+ (Year 9) and 16+ (Year 12). We welcome applications from both internal and external candidates; an offer of a Scholarship is conditional on gaining entry to one of the Schools in the Loughborough Schools Foundation.
Music Scholarships are available by audition in January to exceptional practical musicians, whether instrumentalists or vocalists. They provide the framework for a comprehensive partnership between the pupil and the Music department. Music Scholarships will be tenable for the duration of a pupil’s time at the Loughborough Schools Foundation, subject to annual review, and comprise individually tailored support with performance practice, music theory and aural skills, unrivalled ensemble experience and full access to the Enhanced Music Programme. Scholars must be enthusiastic and able musicians, who can demonstrate their passion for the subject as well as their technical skill. They will be mentored throughout their time at School to ensure they become the best musicians that they can be. Competition for Scholarships is very fierce and they are strictly limited in number.
Harry Humber Sixth Form Music Scholarship 2024
The Worshipful Company of Plaisterers’ Harry Humber Music Scholarship is available for a Sixth Form musician living in Leicestershire or Nottinghamshire with a household income of £40,000 (or demonstrating financial need) or less wishing to attend Loughborough Grammar School, Loughborough High School or Loughborough Amherst School in September 2024.

As a condition of the award, the recipient will perform at Plaisterers’ Hall once a year. We will also provide The Worshipful Company of Plaisterers’ with an annual update on the scholar’s progress during their time in Sixth Form.
