A Level Results 2024

These results reflect a dramatic step up for Amherst, with an 18% increase in A*/A grades and a 14% increase in A*-C grades this year compared with 2023.

This is testament to the hard work of pupils, their dedicated teachers and to the ongoing support of their families. I am immensely proud of our Year 13 leavers whose enthusiasm and commitment have enriched the life of our community in so many areas – from drama productions to musical success and international sporting achievements. We wish our leavers the very best in their next adventures, as they strike out for the world beyond school.

Year 13 leavers proceed to study a wide range of courses, including Biology at York, Chemistry at University College London, Economics, Finance and Data Science at Imperial College London, Pharmacy at Leicester and Psychology at Warwick. Several students are pursuing Fine Art at their preferred universities and in the humanities, Amherst pupils will study American Studies and History at Nottingham, Politics, Philosophy and Economics at Exeter and Religion, Philosophy and Ethics at King’s College London.

GCSE Results 2024

These GCSE results represent another high point for Amherst, following on from the school’s fantastic A Level results last week. At GCSE, Amherst is celebrating a remarkable 15% increase in grades 9-7 and a 15% increase in grades 9-5 this year compared with 2023.

We are very proud of all our pupils, whose dedication is reflected in these tremendous results, which complement their endeavours across so many aspects of school life, from the sports field to concert hall.

We look forward to welcoming our students and new sixth form joiners in the coming weeks as they embark on their A Level studies at Amherst.
