Back to Amherst Life Overview

If the proof is in the pudding, the sheer number of school meals served each day and the clean plates being returned to the kitchen is testament to the high quality catering provision at Loughborough Schools Foundation.

Menus are compiled to provide healthy choices, low in salt, sugar and saturated fat. Fresh food from local suppliers is delivered and served daily from our professional kitchens which each have 5 star food hygiene ratings from the Food Standards Agency.

The compact and traditional dining room in Amherst has a modern and efficient kitchen serving 2 sittings each day.

The Prep School are served from 12:00 to 12:30 offering 2 choices as well as a pasta or jacket potato bar. All pupils are served at the counter allowing even the youngest pupils to make healthy choices from their earliest days in the School.

The Senior School arrive at 13:10 until 14:00 and have a fish, meat and vegetarian choice as well as an array of fresh vegetables, salads and potatoes. Hot and cold dessert or a fresh fruit piece.

Lunch 2 Go is available throughout service allowing pupils to attend clubs or sports activities within the Amherst School campus or across at the main Foundation Schools site.

Our chefs cater for a wide range of cultural, religious and dietary requirements. Our fresh meat suppliers are Halal registered, and all catering staff, whatever their role in the kitchen, have an in-depth understanding of the importance of treating all requirements with reverence and respect, ensuring complete peace of mind for both parents and pupils.
