The Tower

Our beautiful tower building housed the original Grammar School on this site and is home to our Sixth Formers today.

Grammar School Library

The library provides required and inspirational book choices and also a contemplative space and calm, quiet atmosphere for reading, researching and studying. The library is open Monday to Friday, 08:15 to 17:30.

Grammar School Drama Studio

The Drama Studio is well-equipped as a venue for School drama productions. Our resident technician designs concepts for all performances and our Tech Team build sets, props, rig the lights, source the sound and finalise the projections. Parents can enjoy the performances from the tiered seating and enjoy an interval drink outside in the adjacent courtyard.

School House

Situated in the heart of the campus, School House is based in the original Housemaster’s house and accommodates 32 boarders. Boys feel secure and confident from the moment they arrive and quickly enjoy the attractive surroundings of School House.

Grammar School Sports Hall

As you’d expect from our proximity to the National Centre of sporting excellence, we take our Sports very seriously. From expert coaching through to our absolutely fabulous facilities, there is everything at Loughborough Grammar School for both the elite or highly promising young sportsman to the schoolboy who wishes to play games or enjoy activities without competing at the highest level.

Grammar School Science Park

Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths are at the heart of the curriculum and the campus at Loughborough Schools Foundation and we actively support and promote a huge range of STEM opportunities – both in and out of lessons - at our state of the art Science Park.

Loughborough High School

Founded in 1850 as one of the country’s oldest grammar schools for girls, we are proud of our rich history and maintain some wonderful traditions which enrich life in our girls only day school.

High School Hall

This beautiful and historical Hall has high ceilings, a balcony, wooden beams and panelling and a stage. Natural daylight floods through the tall windows and School assemblies and events are staged in this Hall.

Parkin Centre

Our aim at Loughborough Schools Foundation is to develop confident pupils, with high self-esteem and a positive mind set. Physical activity and sport is a major part of this aspiration and the development of a new sports facility is an important keystone of our vision.

This vision for Sport and PE for pupils is simple: participation, engagement, variety, fitness and competitive success. We strive to ensure that every pupil has the opportunity to find an activity that inspires them to achieve their potential, at whatever that level may be, developing a lifelong pattern for Sport and physical activity.

Fairfield Prep School

The new building for Fairfield Prep School was completed in 2016 and represented an £8m investment in the School. The new additions included our brand new Kindergarten for children aged 3+, additional learning spaces with covered outdoor play areas, a larger gymnasium, specialist arts and craft room, food technology and our amazing sensory room.

Kindergarten

Located within the secure environment of Pre-prep, the Kindergarten comprises two classrooms which encourage ‘free-flow’ learning in a space which flows from indoors to an exciting outdoor play area. There is also an interactive ‘White Room’ too using the latest cinema standard projection onto the floors, walls and ceiling.

The White House

Fairfield House, known to one and all as the White House, and built in 1828 by a local family of influential hosiery manufacturers. Even with the magnificent additions to the School made in recent years, the White House remains at the spiritual heart of our close community.

Eadon Hall houses the Dining Hall for both Fairfield Prep School and Loughborough High School

Loughborough Amherst School

Academically we are a non-selective School. Our small class sizes, amazing ratio of teachers to pupils, individual care and flexible curriculum allow us to cater for a range of abilities, in a way that more selective schools or a larger school can’t always match.

Amherst Preparatory School

Our non-selective Preparatory School is home to a truly vibrant community. To best serve the children in our care we believe that we need to prepare them to be thinkers with the ability, confidence and drive to want to improve themselves, their work and the world around them

Amherst Science Block

Labs and classrooms for Biology, Chemistry and Physics.

Amherst Main Hall

The Main Hall at Amherst hosts School presentations and productions. Large windows flood the Hall with daylight and there is a stage and refreshments area.

Amherst Chapel

The Chapel sits at the heart of Amherst life. Its design and construction was undertaken by Charles Hansen and has influences from Augustus Pugin’s belief that Gothic was the only true architecture for churches. Construction of the Convent building and associated Chapel was started in the late 1840s and completed in 1850.

Hahn House

Hahn House is the Amherst girls’ boarding house and opened in September 2019. This boarding facility is for the tennis players who are studying at Amherst School, and training at the National Tennis Academy at Loughborough University.

Loughborough Nursery

Our mission, supported by exemplary facilities, caring and well-qualified staff and our own kitchen and chef, is to assist you in your role as the first and most important educator of your children.

Loughborough Schools Music

Our Music department is a tremendously exciting place to be, and choosing any of the Schools in the Loughborough Schools Foundation will also mean choosing this vibrant musical arena.

The Bursary

Home of Loughborough Schools Foundation which is the charitable Foundation of our four independent Schools operating under a single Board of Trustees/Directors.

Burton and Hodson Halls

The Hodson Hall is the main assembly hall for the boys at Loughborough Grammar School whilst all meals are enjoyed in the Burton Hall.

Denton House

An inclusive and friendly boarding house where boys gain stability from a supportive team of House staff and a comfortable daily routine. Denton has benefited from a modernisation programme to ensure a restful, spacious and well-equipped environment for all boarders.

Forest School

Children at Fairfield, Amherst and the Nursery all enjoy their outdoor lessons in the extensive woodland setting of the Loughborough Schools Foundation Forest School.
