The success of our boarding community has been an enriching part of Loughborough Grammar School for much of its long history.
Our Boarders are an integral part of a total Grammar School community of around 1,000 boys and we ourselves are part of the wider Loughborough Schools Foundation family. With Fairfield Prep School, the High School for girls, co-education at the Amherst School and a popular Nursery all sharing our tree-lined location in the market town of Loughborough, it is an always busy, engaging and diverse environment for Boarders to live within.

Just like our day pupils, Boarders are supported, individually known and are cared for and cared about. They soon feel at ease, secure within the familial embrace of the resident Housemasters and the wider School community.
There is a huge breadth of opportunity in academic study, in extra-curricular activities, in clubs, trips, tours, sports and even in down-time. Boredom and boarding are never in the same sentence here at Loughborough.
Termly and weekly boarding is available. Weekly Boarders take part in the full range of School activities during the week and will return home on Friday, returning to School on either Sunday evening or Monday morning. There are many recreational and educational activities on offer for our termly Boarders at the weekend such as trips to the theatre, cinema and major UK cities.
