Founded in 1495, Loughborough Grammar School is one of the UK’s oldest independent boys’ schools. We are proud of our history and heritage, but revel in a future-focused mindset and learning environment designed to mould fulfilled and world-ready young men.

Our School is part of the Loughborough Schools Foundation on a shared campus which is home to around 2000 pupils aged from 6 weeks to 18 years. Our pupils therefore benefit from the best of both worlds in terms of an education geared around the learning needs and preferences of boys, but with multiple opportunities to mix, engage and work together with the girls across the campus.

Our school takes pride in not only developing the knowledge of our pupils, but also in sparking their curiosity so that they enjoy learning and work hard to achieve academic success. Our curriculum develops independence, responsibility, problem solving and metacognition to equip our boys with the skills and attributes to aim high in life and realise their potential.

Our purpose-built, specialist Music Centre provides an outstanding hub for pupils to explore their musical passions, achieve their very best and perform at the highest level. A weekly array of ensembles and choirs build skills and camaraderie, with concerts throughout the year providing the opportunity for our musicians to showcase their talents. This culminates in the Annual Spring Concert where over 650 guests enjoy a spectacular evening of musical excellence from pupils across the Foundation.

The town of Loughborough is synonymous with sporting success, as home to the world’s leading university for sport and a multitude of Olympic and Paralympic medals. It is therefore no surprise that sport is central to life at the Grammar School, with excellent facilities, specialist coaches and links to Loughborough University providing the perfect base to nurture talent and achieve success in any one of the 16 sports on offer.
