The Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards involve a challenging programme of activities which help young people to develop skills and experience. At Loughborough Grammar School we offer the scheme to those in Year 10 and above.

The activities include volunteering, learning new skills and participating in physical activity. Each level of the Award also involves two expeditions plus training days per year which are to exciting and remote areas of the country, each expedition level being more challenging as participants progress.

At any one time up to 200 of our boys are enrolled, working their way through their Bronze Award, and a substantial number of them go on to achieve Silver and Gold Awards.

We are an Independent Operating Authority and employ a full-time Award Officer who manages a team of fully-trained volunteers.
