When we look back on our time at school, some of our fondest memories often come from school trips. Whether it’s the amazing sights we saw or the adventures we had, these experiences leave lasting impressions. At Loughborough Grammar School, we understand the significance of these moments, and we’re dedicated to providing our students with opportunities that extend far beyond the classroom.

One of our mottos is, “If your son leaves us with just three good A-levels, we have failed you.” We believe in the importance of co-curricular activities and exposing our pupils to a variety of experiences. Our residential trips are a cornerstone of this philosophy, offering immersive learning experiences that contribute significantly to your son’s growth and development. We aim for every boy to participate in at least one residential trip a year, and we ensure accessibility with several two-night trips costing around £300 for each year group. Our offerings include sports tours, outdoor adventure trips, Duke of Edinburgh (DofE) expeditions, as well as language and cultural trips.

Away from the familiarity of home and school, students navigate new environments, make decisions, and collaborate with peers in ways that foster self-reliance and resilience. One memorable trip was to France, where a quiet and reserved pupil found the confidence to express their opinions about the art at the Centre Pompidou Modern Art Museum in Paris. This experience marked a significant step in their development, showcasing the transformative power of school trips.

These trips also help students form strong bonds with their peers through shared experiences and mutual respect. When old school friends reunite years later, it’s often the memories of these trips that spark the most conversation and laughter.

We look forward to another year of adventure, learning, and growth for our students through our diverse and enriching school trips.
