Back to Davys

I first began working at Loughborough Grammar School in the sports department seven years ago. It was a career change for me, having previously experienced life in publishing, journalism and in the slightly more left-field world of full-time elite canoeing. I very quickly realised the value in building relationships with those under my stewardship.

Now a teacher of English, Head of Year, and a member of the Games department, I have adapted the principles of the sports field to my classroom and pastoral responsibilities. Boys should feel encouraged to challenge themselves and their peers and supported in missteps and mistakes.

Mrs Bruton and I want Davys house to be somewhere that supports and challenges in equal measure. Somewhere that asks the right questions at the right time of the right people. And, ultimately, for it to be somewhere that produces characterful and confident young men that are proud to look back on their time at the Grammar School.
