The Loughborough Schools Foundation Music department have raised £329.05 for Rainbows Children’s Hospice.
A ‘selection box’ of musicians and singers took up residence in Loughborough’s Carillon Court Shopping Centre on Saturday 7 December for a festive recital to raise some much needed funds for the children and families who are supported by local charity, Rainbows Hospice.
Shoppers were treated to a delightful array of traditional Christmas melodies such as ‘We Wish You a Merry Christmas’ on woodwind, ‘Hark the Herald’ played by flautists, ‘Ding Dong Merrily on High’ on brass and ‘Away in a Manger’ performed by the choir.
All performers donned their best Christmas jumpers and Santa hats for the occasion with Director of Music, Richard West conducting the festivities.
This annual concert is part of a string of different events that have taken place at Loughborough Schools Foundation to raise vital funds for Rainbows. Previous events have included a successful world record attempt for singing a single song in relay by Fairfield Preparatory School which raised £4187.12.
