UNESCO International Day for Cultural diversity, dialogue and development

On the week before half term, LGS celebrated the UNESCO International Day for cultural diversity. On Tuesday, the assembly in response to an earlier one on why it has been challenging to establish a national British Day, identified two key cultural contributions to world culture – Music and football explored by Diversity committee members Zane, Kritveer and Leon.

On Friday large numbers of students celebrated their cultural identities by choosing to wear clothing which typified their culture – nationals from Barbados to Zambia were represented. Some pupils even brought in food such as paella and samosas!
