On Wednesday 13 November, pupils in Years 9 and 10 from across the Foundation performed As You Like It at Curve Leicester as part of Shakespeare Schools Festival. As You Like It subverts the traditional rules of romance: gender roles, nature and politics are confused in a play that reflects on how bewildering, yet wonderful, love can be.

Stand out performances include Jaysol’s brooding portrayal of Oliver, Zaki’s playful and energetic performance as Orlando and Louis hilarious adaptation of the love-struck Silvus.

Huge congratulations to all the cast. The organisers of the festival praised our pupils for their focused, generous, and confident production and were impressed by the creative use of ribbons to symbolise different environments on stage.

Special thanks to Sam (Year 12) for his help in directing the play and Mr Viccars and tech team students, William and Lewis, for operating lighting and sound.
