Grammar School pupils enjoyed success at the National Modern Tetrathlon Championships held at the home of British Modern Pentathlon, Bath University on Saturday 2 April.

There were six representatives from LGS that took part in the event. This is the first time that LGS have entered individuals in the event which included swimming, fencing, shooting (laser guns) and running, in 3 age categories, U17, U15 and U13.

Their coach, Kate Allenby, a former Olympic medallist in Modern Pentathlon, has been tirelessly preparing the boys for this adventure and in particular this event that included the fencing discipline for the first time, and a special thank goes to her for her enthusiasm and dedication.

Whilst all of the boys competed recently in the Modern Biathlon championships also held at Bath University, it was the first time that any of them had actually competed in a Modern Tetrathlon event.

Even though they were competing against the best in the country in their age groups from more established Pentathlon schools including Millfield and Leweston, all of the boys conducted themselves fantastically well and were a credit to the Grammar School, and the Foundation.

Well done to all the boys for their fantastic achievements.
