Loughborough Schools Foundation Head of Rugby, Mr Emyr Lewis, and Year 11 rugby player Will J rubbed shoulders with a number of sporting stars at the premiere of Never Meet Your Heroes earlier in June.

Hosted by sports presenter Gaby Logan, the event was held at the Soho Hotel in London with the attendee list including former World Cup winner, Jason Robinson OBE, as well as Roger Black, Sir Trevor Brooking and Zinzan Brooke.

Never Meet Your Heroes is a new initiative produced by Muviboost, which follows sporting heroes past and present to showcase their stories and serve as inspiration for up-and-coming sporting talent.

Emry said: “It was just an incredible evening, with so many sporting stars in attendance. It was great to hear Jason Robinson giving a rare insight into his upbringing in a deprived area of Leeds, and then getting the opportunity to represent Wigan Rugby league through their golden era, as well as captaining and winning the world cup with England. It was certainly inspirational!”

Will, who is currently on the Rugby Players Pathway Programme, also shared his thoughts on the experience. He said: “It was certainly a night I won’t forget being in the company of some all-time greats in the sporting world! And it was a great experience being interviewed in front of the camera about my journey through the Grammar School.”
