Loughborough Grammar School has been awarded a spot in the top ten independent schools in the East Midlands, by The Sunday Times Parent Power Guide 2023.

Recognised for its academic performance in what has been labelled ‘the first true set of post-pandemic examination results,’ 59% of pupils from the boys’ school in Loughborough achieved 9-7 at GCSE whilst 74% were awarded grades from A*- B at A Level.

Mrs Helen Foster, Head of Loughborough Grammar School, and the first female Head in 528 years, said: “This is wonderful recognition for our all-boys school, which is closely linked with the girls’ High School next door, and it truly reflects our offering and our purpose of being an ambitious place where boys belong. We aim to forge great men here; and with new initiatives such as our Professional Development Programme for Sixth Form boys, we will continue to do so, and more.”

Loughborough Grammar School has a long and successful tradition of educating boys since 1495. It is part of the Loughborough Schools Foundation, meaning that the boys have access to the outstanding cross-foundation facilities such as the excellent sport offering and the only Music School in the Midlands with an All-Steinway status.

The Loughborough Schools Foundation is a foundation of four schools comprising: Fairfield Prep School (boys and girls 3–11), Loughborough Amherst School (boys and girls 4–18), Loughborough Grammar School (boys 10–18), and Loughborough High School (girls 11–18). The schools operate under one governing body and are situated on two neighbouring campuses in the town. The Foundation also includes The Loughborough Nursery for children from 6 weeks to 4 years.
