GCSE Success for Grammar Boys
Loughborough Grammar School boys are celebrating excellent GCSE grades as new numerical grades have now been introduced throughout the curriculum. 60% of results were graded 7-9 (the equivalent of A*/A)
- 11 boys achieved at least 8s or 9s in nine or more subjects
- 19 boys achieved at least six grade 9s
- 42 boys achieved at least 8s or 9s in five or more subjects
- 70 boys achieved at least 5 grades of 7-9 (equivalent of A*/A)
- 46% of History students achieved grade 9 (86% achieved grades 7-9)
Headmaster, Duncan Byrne said,
“I congratulate all of the boys for their impressive GCSE results. Success looks different for each individual, and a boy who comes through a struggle with a subject to achieve a 6 or 7 should be as pleased as another who has acquired a string of top grades. The boys can now embark on A Levels with confidence having laid firm foundations for further study, and I look forward to them being the academic and moral leaders of the Loughborough Grammar School Sixth Form over the next two years.”
