U11 Rounders

On Wednesday 8^th May Fairfield U11 rounders team played the 2^nd round of the I.A.P.S. Knock-out Competition. This took place at Fairfield against Witham Hall school. Fairfield fielded 1^st and this was the most improved performance witnessed for a very long time. After the 1^st innings Fairfield led by 10 rounders to 7 however Witham Hall fought back, batting well to score another 9 rounders. It was a very tense 2^nd innings with Fairfield feeling the pressure and unable to prevent Witham’s score creeping up. This all changed in the closing stages of the match with a flash of inspirational fielding from Fairfield the team stumped three players out in quick succession and from then it was all over. The final score was Fairfield 18 rounders and Witham Hall 16 rounders. It was a tremendous game and both schools played a good standard of rounders and should be proud of their performance.
