Back to Fairfield Life Overview

If the proof is in the pudding, then the sheer number of school meals served each day and the clean plates being returned to the kitchen shows just how much pupils enjoy their food and the quality of our catering.

Menus are designed to provide healthy choices; low in salt, sugar and saturated fat. Fresh food from local suppliers is delivered and served daily from our professional kitchen which is 5-star food hygiene rated by the Food Standards Agency.

Pupils take lunch in the Fairfield Dining Hall from 12:00 through until 13:05. There is a choice of at least three hot dishes each day, including a vegetarian option. Pasta, rice or potatoes and a selection of vegetables are available too along with jacket potatoes and fresh bread rolls. There is also a ‘help yourself’ salad bar with meat cheese and fish accompaniments encouraging healthy eating and good lifestyle habits to begin at an early age.

Yoghurts, fresh fruit, cheese and biscuits, milk and fruit juice are available daily, along with home made cakes and biscuits and a hot pudding served with custard.

Our chefs cater for a wide range of cultural, religious and dietary requirements. Our fresh meat suppliers are Halal registered, and all catering staff, whatever their role in the kitchen, have an in-depth understanding of the importance of treating all choices and requirements with reverence and respect, ensuring complete peace of mind for both parents and pupils.
