The inaugural Warwick Prep Under 11 Invitational Netball Tournament took place on Saturday 23rd January. Fairfield got off to a great start, confidence building, and taking control by winning the first match against Crackley School 7-0.

The next two matches against Solihull and King Henry were much more competitive and closely fought, but Fairfield won both narrowly by just one goal. The final match in their section was against a strong Warwick U10 side but Fairfield’s experience helped them to a 4-1 win. This excellent set of results saw Fairfield finishing top of their section, resulting in a semi-final against Bablake. It was a close, nail-biting match, with the ball going from end to end without either side finding their rhythm, but by sheer determination and our shooters remaining cool under pressure, Fairfield won 2-1.

The final was played against a very strong Warwick side. Fairfield never really got going, and it ended with a 7-0 win to the hosts, Fairfield’s only defeat of the morning. Huge congratulations to the girls, Poppy, Katie, Abigail, Lara, Roma, Chloe, Martha, Reva and Annabel, on their well-deserved silver medals. We extend our thanks to all the parents who came along to support.
