Jubilee Day

Jubilee Day featured image

Today the children have been celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee with a host of events. The children came to school dressed in red, white or blue, and also brought with them crowns they had decorated. In the morning 5C presented to us a special Jubilee assembly before a rapturous rendition of Jerusalem. The children then assembled to form the Union Flag, the photographs of which were absolutely stunning. There was a special Jubilee picnic, complete with stilt walkers at lunchtime. In the afternoon the children divided into groups for three afternoon activities. There was a variety performance of dances and music, the children learnt the official Jubilee song and the children watched a production of the Elves and the Shoemaker. To round things off there was a whole school rendition of the Jubilee song, before finally the balloon release to bring a close to proceedings. The children were given a Diamond Jubilee bookmark to take home with them also as a keepsake for this special day.

It was a truly fantastic day and everyone involved should be proud of their efforts.
