Instrumental Music Induction Day

On Friday 25th May, Fairfield pupils took part in several exciting activities as part of their Instrumental Music Induction Day. The morning began with a concert for the school. An orchestra made up of members of the music staff, conducted by Mr Alex Osiatynski entertained everyone with a selection of lively and popular musical favourites. Several members of the music staff then demonstrated the instruments they play and talked to the children about how the different instruments work.

In the afternoon, Year 2 pupils visited the Music School to ‘try out’ the different instruments they had seen and heard at the morning concert. Small workshop groups had the wonderful experience of playing string, woodwind, brass and percussion instruments with the instrumental music staff.
