In2Hockey County Finals

On Tuesday 14th March the U11 Girls’ Hockey A Squad journeyed south to Leicester Grammar School to compete in the Leicestershire In2Hockey County Finals. Following on from what has been an outstanding season so far, the girls went into the first match against Ratcliffe with confidence and determination to secure a positive result. Excellent ball transfer and solid defensive play gave the girls a resounding 7-0 win and boosted confidence for their next game against Leicester Grammar. Again the girls went out to take the game to the opposition and creating numerous goal scoring opportunities whilst barely being challenged in defence. Continued pressure at the opposite end soon paid dividends, culminating in another super 6-0 victory. Their final match was against Dixie, a team, which to date, we hadn’t played. The girls, as ever, rose to the challenge and put in another fantastic team performance to achieve a resounding 6-0 win. The entire squad all put in a great shift both on the Astro turf and on the side line and I am delighted that they will progress to the Regional Finals in April where I am confident they will put on another fine display of hockey. Thank you to all the fabulous support the girls received and to Ms Nicol for umpiring all the matches, it was greatly appreciated.
