House Music Competition
Fairfield’s House Music competition was held on Friday 13th February in front of a packed audience in the Eadon Hall. The school was treated to an afternoon of wonderful instrumental performances given by the sixteen finalists selected to represent their House. Almost 200 pupils entered the competition this year and Mr Richard West, Director of LES Music had the enjoyable but difficult task of choosing a winner from each year group. Congratulations to the four Year group winners of the instrumental category.
The Inter-House Choir competition which followed had an explosion of talent on show. Each House performed their own version of the Take That song, ‘Shine’ choreographed by the House staff. The performances were full of energy, enthusiasm and vitality with everyone working together to produce a fabulous result. After much biting of nails and the atmosphere in the hall at fever pitch, the Saxons triumphed, winning not only the Choir competition but the overall House Music trophy as well.
A huge ‘well done’ to all of the Fairfield children who took part in the competition. Our thanks go to our adjudicator this year, Mr Richard West, our Head of Singing Mr David Morris and to the Fairfield House Staff whose choreography was worthy of Strictly Come Dancing !
