Hockey: Fairfield U10 girls take Elms Invitational title

Fairfield’s Under 10 girls’ hockey team enjoyed a superb start to their season, winning The Elms Invitational Tournament in Long Eaton.

The squad played well, putting together a selection of attacking passes to dominate both section games against The Elms and Highfields. Both goal keepers demonstrated sound kicking skills to help the team to a 3 – 0 scoreline in both matches.

The victories put the Fairfield side through to the final against Spratton Hall. After an early goal, Fairfield continued to press against the opposition’s defence. Alongside the hockey skills, teamwork and determination paid dividends to secure a final score of Fairfield 3 – Spratton Hall 1. Sahar Khan’s individual performance in a range of positions saw her named as one of the players of the tournament.
