FAMILY & FRIENDS SKI TRIP – Alpe d’Huez, 2nd January 2016

38 Fairfield parents and children travelled to the ski resort of Alpe d’Huez in France to enjoy some wonderful skiing over New Year. The extensive and varied skiing, excellent snow fall and spectacular panoramas made this a very memorable trip.

The main resort of Alpe d’Huez and the village of Vaujany, which was located on the other side of the mountain, shared the same ski area, but offered a different experience in terms of village atmosphere. With a total of 240km of pistes, a colossal volume of varied intermediate runs, the longest black run in the world and the chance to ski the ‘8,000’ (four ski runs each with a total vertical drop of over 2,000m), Alpe d’Huez really did offer plenty for everyone.

Children and parents also enjoyed an extensive après ski programme, which included a karaoke evening, quiz night, ice skating, pizza night, husky sleigh rides and swimming in the heated outdoor pool….. not forgetting the ski presentation and disco on the last evening!

It was a wonderful trip and you can see some of the fabulous photographs taken during our trip in the gallery on the right.
