Chess Day

On Friday 45 children from Years 3 – 6 competed in the first stage of the UK Schools Chess Challenge. The children played 6 rounds in a Year 3/4 and Year 5/6 competition. The children maintained their concentration and focus all day and should be proud of their efforts. 17 of our pupils performed very strongly and qualified for the ‘Mega Finals’ which will be held in May. Special congratulations go to Abimbola Ayorinde and Daniel Hill for their performance in the tournament. Shyam Modi deserves a special mention for playing in the Year 5/6 tournament, despite only being in Year 4 and shows huge promise.
