FAIRFIELD PUPILS STAR IN “BACK TO THE FUTURE” ASSEMBLY

All the pupils at Fairfield took part in the “Back to the Future” Assembly which was held to mark the official opening of the Fairfield New Building.

Every year group had been given a decade to mark the years during which Fairfield has been educating children across the region. The children were all fabulously dressed in costumes appropriate to their decade. The performances started with the Rock ‘n Roll era of the 1950’s, through a Beatles rendition of the 1960’s, a fluoro clothed 1980’s to The Future performed by Year 6. The performances included singing, dancing and also two Loughborough High School girls who shared their happy memories of Fairfield. A couple of very professional News Readers guided the audience through the proceedings with some interesting facts about the development of Fairfield that was relevant to each decade.

After the assembly, Simon Timson, Director of the Lawn Tennis Association, gave an inspiring address to all the children and shared his experiences of being a Fairfield former pupil. The Mayor and Mayoress of Charnwood were also present and enjoyed the Assembly. When asked about his thoughts on the new building, the Mayor said;

“I’ve seen the transformation of Fairfield over the past three years and the result really does live up to all expectations. It is magnificent.”
