How has your time at Loughborough Grammar School influenced your life and career?

It has helped me to be confident in my ability and has given me a solid foundation of technical knowledge.

What do you wish you had known when you were in Sixth Form?

There will be setbacks but you will look back and realise they weren’t actually setbacks they were just an opportunity to succeed in something else.

What did you like most about school?

There was no limit to learning. If you were driven enough, the opportunity was always there to learn more.

How would you describe LGS in three words?

Challenging, Hard-Working, fun.

Could you provide an outline of your job role?

Creating software and solutions to improve the viability of renewable energy, in particular wind energy.

What are your career highlights?

Deploying my first web app to an actual wind farm customer to help their daily work.

What job search tips would you give to pupils looking for a career in your industry? What are employers looking for?

There are so many opportunities at all levels and there are so many non-technical roles too. I am an engineer and help with that side of things, but there are opportunities for project managers, traders, designers, etc to get involved with.

What ambitions would you still like to realise?

I will soon be going offshore to visit some wind farms and am focusing mainly on achieving my chartership.
