Sarah Musgrave

Interim Head of Development and Alumni Engagement

I joined LSF in March 2023 after spending 11 years in the Philanthropy, Alumni and Supporter Engagement team at Loughborough University.

Since joining LSF, I have grown to understand that alumni, supporters and friends of LSF have a loyalty and dedication to the schools that is unmatched by anything I have ever known. It's truly amazing!

I'm here to listen to your stories, hear about your experiences and help with any philanthropic aspirations you may have. So please get in touch if you fancy a chat, or please do say hello at any of our events.

Outside of work, I'm a fan of true crime documentaries (I studied Criminology at university), I love animals (I have two cats but prefer dogs - please don't tell them!) and I'm very passionate about music, having played the drums since I was a child.

Emma Fraser

Research and Insight Manager

I joined the Development Office team in March 2018 following a career break to raise my three daughters. My early career was in medicine so joining the Loughborough Schools Foundation was quite a change – each day is different and it’s a pleasure to work in an organisation constantly striving for excellence. My main responsibilities within the team are managing the alumni database with its 22,000 alumni records and managing the office’s finances.

I have three daughters within the Foundation, one at Fairfield and two at Loughborough High School. Spare time is therefore sparse but generally spent outdoors, walking or cycling, plus increasingly cheering from the sidelines of a hockey pitch. I’m currently studying for my dayskipper qualification so hope to add some sailing to that mix.

Laura Woodhouse

Alumni Engagement and Events Manager

I have spent my whole career in Development and Alumni Relations and joined the team in June 2022 from the University of Leicester where I was the Alumni Engagement Manager for several years and where I went to University to complete my degree.

My role involves engaging with alumni across the four schools and providing opportunities for alumni to take part in such as events, or keeping alumni updated on the latest School and alumni news through communications. It is a busy and varied role which keeps it exciting!

In my spare time I like to go on walks with our dog Tilly, a little Yorkshire Terrier who we have become long-term fosterers to or get comfy in front of the telly and binge watch our favourite programmes!

John Weitzel

John Weitzel

LGS Archivist

I joined LGS in the Autumn of 1978 and had 38 great years at the School, including twice being ‘Acting Headmaster’. Since retirement I spend at least two mornings a week working with the Development Department dealing with Alumni and looking after the School’s considerable archive. I attend all alumni functions and regularly give tours of the school to returning old boys.

Regarded as being obsessed with Mathematics (along with cricket!) when I was on the staff it is history, particularly anything to do with the School, that now occupies most of my time. Researching a wide variety of topics, developing the digital archive – https://www.lgs-heritage.org/– and meeting with Loughborough’s wide variety of heritage groups is a lovely way to spend retirement!

I was greatly honoured to receive the Times Educational Supplement’s ‘Special Services to Independent Education Award’ in February 2019.
