Reverend Elizabeth York, who joined the Foundation as Chaplain in September 2019, has left LSF to take up the role of Lead Chaplain at Loughborough University from January.

During her time with us Elizabeth has worked in many different ways to support the pastoral and spiritual life of the nursery and schools, caring for people of all faiths and none. Amongst her many duties and responsibilities, she has taught Religion and Philosophy, supported RE teaching at Primary level and led services throughout each school year – including the annual Remembrance Service in Queen’s Park. She has taken assemblies across all schools, accompanied day and residential trips, co-led on digital projects through COVID, including the LSF Advent Calendar 2020 and other recorded services (Remembrance 2020 and Burton Service 2021), and has worked with colleagues from Central Services and the schools on projects designed to support the welfare of all who work at LSF. Elizabeth has provided a listening ear for pupils, staff and parents and supported the LSF boarding community, leading the weekly Boarders’ Chapel gathering. She has also supported bereaved pupils, staff and families.

“It has been a privilege to serve as Chaplain in the Loughborough Schools Foundation. I have many wonderful memories of these past few years that I will treasure. I am looking forward to staying in touch. With prayers and all good wishes for the coming year.” – Elizabeth York
