The 20, 30, 40, 50 year Decades Lunch Reunion
After sadly having to cancel or postpone our alumni events following the death of the late Queen, we were thrilled to welcome over 90 alumni from the Classes of 1972, 1982, 1992 and 2002 back to campus for their reunions on Saturday 8 October!
Alumni from Loughborough Grammar School and Loughborough High School were able to reminisce throughout the day with former staff and current School Heads Dr Daniel Koch and Dr Fiona Miles.
The event began with tours of the Schools and a welcome from the Heads, followed by a drinks on the LGS Quad. Our LHS alumni were so keen to chat and reminisce, that they gave our LGS alumni a head start at the drinks reception!
Guests were then treated to a 3-course meal in Burton Hall with further opportunities to catch up about the good old days. They heard from the Director of Development, Laura-Jane Ryves, who talked about the many ways in which alumni can volunteer their time to support current pupils, whether that be providing careers advice to supporting projects through philanthropic gifts. Guests also heard from Chair of the Loughburians Committee, Dr Clare Burnett (LHS 1997) who highlighted the importance of the Loughburians Committee and the alumni community.
Alumni also enjoyed a bit of early Christmas shopping with our range of merchandise and were surprised with a tote bag, pen and postcard to take home.
"It was so nice to meet up with old friends, some of whom I hadn’t seen for 50 years!"
