This course provides students with a grounding in both the theory and history of Music Technology and its practical application through a range of coursework-based tasks and projects making use of our new recording studio.
If you are interested in becoming a sound engineer, record producer or working in the visual and sound media then this course is for you. There are many career and higher education options open to anyone who achieves this qualification. These range from entry level jobs in sound departments at many theatres to the highly prestigious ‘Tonmeister degree’ at Surrey University. The A level also provides you with many transferrable skills that will prepare you for the demands of higher education and the world of work.
During the course you will cover the following units:
- Recording techniques
- Mastering and sound editing
- Sound design and synthesis
- Technological development of the last 100 years
What can I do with an A Level in Music Technology?
