The Opportunities Your Support Creates

Rising costs continue to place significant pressure on many families. Beyond school fees, expenses such as lunches, educational trips, music tuition and transport can create additional challenges at a time when household budgets are already stretched.

Thanks to the generosity of alumni and donors, the Student Opportunity Fund provides practical support to pupils across the Foundation, helping ensure they can continue to benefit from the full range of opportunities available to them.

For one family, support from the Fund helped cover the cost of school lunches during a particularly difficult period.

As one parent explained:

“It’s comforting to know that my daughter is being fed a nutritious meal during the school day. She always comes home happy with what she’s had for lunch, especially the dessert!”

For another family, funding enabled a pupil to continue piano lessons that would otherwise have had to stop.

“Thank you so much for this funding and enabling my daughter to continue with the opportunity to learn how to play the piano.”

The Fund has also helped pupils take part in educational visits and residential trips. One parent described the moment they told their children they would be able to attend:

“Their eyes lit up and they looked so happy.”

The impact extends far beyond the trip itself.

“Not only will this aid the boys’ development and enhance their confidence and independence whilst away on the trip, it also means they will not feel isolated and left out by not attending.”

Whether helping a pupil enjoy a healthy school lunch, continue developing a talent, or take part in an educational experience alongside their peers, the Student Opportunity Fund helps remove barriers and ensures that more young people can make the most of their time at school.

One parent perhaps summed it up best:

“Your generosity and kindness have made a huge difference, and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunities my daughter has been given through being part of the Foundation, opportunities we would never have dreamed possible without the Student Opportunity Fund.”

Thank you to everyone who supports the Student Opportunity Fund. Your generosity is making a meaningful difference to pupils and families across Loughborough Schools Foundation.
