The Pioneers enjoy regular sessions with the Reception children at Amherst and have been making the most of the outdoor area which has been developed to encourage outdoor learning experiences.

The old bike shed has been transformed into an exciting outside classroom to encourage mark making and numeracy skills, and there are several other areas for the children to explore; the mud kitchen, the loose parts area – where they can let their imagination go wild creating whatever they want with the materials, and the book area to further encourage a love of literacy.
