A family of schools on a co-ed campus

Our family of independent schools in Loughborough is set within a beautiful, co-educational campus, home to around 1,800 pupils aged from six weeks to 18 years. Students benefit from outstanding facilities, including a purpose-built Music School, cutting-edge STEM resources, Forest School adventures and a vibrant co-curricular programme.

Shared events across the Foundation are a highlight of campus life, with memorable occasions such as the annual Spring Concert at De Montfort Hall in Leicester bringing our co-ed community together in celebration.

Sport is a key part of our culture. Exceptional facilities and expert coaching, led by current and former professional athletes, help pupils develop their skills and reach their full potential. Our Sport Scholarships and Student Athlete Programme are designed to support talented athletes ready to take their sport to the next level.

All of this is made easily accessible thanks to our wide catchment area and well-established transport network, connecting families across Leicestershire and the East Midlands.

The Best of Both Worlds: A Co-Ed Campus

While our Nursery and Prep School are co-educational, pupils in our Senior Schools benefit from single-sex education within a co-educational campus environment. This best-of-both-worlds approach ensures our young people receive the highest quality teaching and pastoral care tailored to their needs, while enjoying co-educational opportunities that build confidence and social skills.

Shared experiences such as the Combined Cadet Force, music and theatre productions foster collaboration and mutual respect. This unique structure provides a dynamic and inclusive learning environment that prepares young people for life beyond school.

Loughborough Nursery

Loughborough Nursery provides a nurturing and inspiring start to early years education, where every child is supported to grow in confidence, independence and curiosity. Our carefully designed rooms reflect each stage of a child’s development, complemented by exceptional facilities including spacious outdoor areas, a dedicated Forest School, an ICT suite and a library.

As part of the Loughborough Schools Foundation, Loughborough Nursery children benefit from specialist classes taught by qualified teachers, including music and sport.

Beyond its exceptional facilities and expert staff, Loughborough Nursery is proud to be a close-knit community where educators work in partnership with parents to nurture every aspect of each child’s learning and development.

Fairfield Prep School

Fairfield Prep School is passionately committed to giving children the very best start in life – academically, socially and emotionally. We believe every child has the potential to flourish. Here, children are seen, known and celebrated. It is where family values meet educational ambition; where each child is encouraged to be curious, confident and kind – to take risks, explore widely and grow into the very best version of themselves.

The school’s aspirational approach, combining academic rigour with a broad co-curricular programme, truly sets it apart. Fairfield embraces sport, the arts, languages, outdoor learning and leadership. With purpose-built facilities, expert staff and small class sizes, it provides a rich and well-rounded education that inspires a lifelong love of learning.

Fairfield Prep takes pride in its partnership with parents and the wider community, helping every child to develop the habits, knowledge and values needed to thrive. It creates grounded, responsible citizens who are ready to make a positive difference.

Loughborough High School

The school of her future – a place where the next generation of female leaders become confident, capable and world-ready young women.

Loughborough High School is one of the top independent girls’ schools in the East Midlands, consistently ranking among the top 60 UK independent schools for GCSE results. This success is built on a relaxed, supportive approach to learning, where smaller class sizes, exceptional teaching and well-resourced departments create the perfect environment for every girl to thrive.

A love of learning lies at the heart of Loughborough High, where there are no limits placed on female ambition. Whether a pupil aspires to be an astrophysicist, actress or accountant, staff encourage every girl to pursue her goals with imagination, energy and determination.

Everyone is someone at Loughborough High School. From the sports field to the concert hall, every pupil’s talents are nurtured in a warm, supportive community that combines the benefits of all-girls education with the opportunities of a co-educational campus.

Loughborough Grammar School

Loughborough Grammar School is where boys are inspired to achieve through happiness, hard work and fulfilment. A strong sense of community underpins life here, supported by excellent pastoral care, a dedicated Wellbeing Centre and a traditional House system that helps every boy to thrive. Courtesy, respect and kindness are hallmarks of LGS Life.

The School’s forward-thinking Careers and Futures curriculum begins in Year 6 and continues through to Sixth Form, helping pupils develop ambition, purpose and leadership. A rigorous Scholars’ Programme challenges high achievers, while bespoke support is provided for those applying to Oxbridge, Ivy League universities or pursuing careers in medicine and related fields.

Loughborough Grammar School encourages every boy to discover his talents, build character and make a difference in society. Social responsibility is central to our ethos, whether through environmental action, community engagement or leadership roles.

A legendary co-curricular programme, offering more than 140 clubs and societies, ensures every boy finds his passion. Together with opportunities across the Foundation’s Combined Cadet Force, pupils leave with the confidence, resilience and curiosity that last a lifetime.
