Masterclass and Workshop from Tim Smedley
Earlier this term String Ensemble and the Harker Quartet were fortunate to have a masterclass and workshop from Tim Smedley of the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. Tim specialises in Baroque string music and plays with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment and the Archangelo Ensemble.
In the afternoon he met some younger players and also coached the Harker Quartet who played Bach’s Suite for Flute in B minor with Joseph on Baroque flute.
The String Ensemble played Telemann’s Don Quixotte Suite and the session ended with a short performance for parents. Here is their performance of the Overture and the Battle of the Windmills.
