The prestigious Lord’s Lieutenant Cadet award has been given to Loughborough Grammar School student, Joe, for upholding high standards and values during his Combined Cadet Force (CCF) duties.

Loughborough Schools’ Foundation, Major Ben Ward, nominated Joe for this award in recognition of his discipline, integrity and loyalty to office. Joe’s commitment to the CCF, along with his excellent attitude will ensure that he will uphold his important role, which comes with the award. Joe will support the Lord Lieutenant in conducting his civic duties across Leicestershire and is the first Loughborough Grammar School Cadet in recent history to have been nominated for this role.

Having been selected from a cohort of high calibre nominated candidates Joe is proud to represent Loughborough Schools Foundation’s CCF whilst undertaking his civic duties as part of this prestigious role.

Joe said: “It is a massive honour to be the first person that Major Ward has nominated for this role. The award opens up a lot of opportunities for example helping at royal visits, attending duties in support of the Lord Lieutenant and sitting on interview panels, to name a few. It’s really nice that I’m able to give something back to the County and the CCF which organises so many events.”

Major Ben Ward said: “Joe epitomises the cadet values and standards; he will endeavour to add value for the Lord Lieutenant in all that he undertakes. He was selected against fierce competition and I have absolute faith in his capacities in role representing both the Office and the LGS CCF.”
