I have been teaching at Loughborough Grammar School for nearly 16 years. I currently teach Physics from Years 7-13 and I am a Year 7 form tutor. Previously I have taught ICT at KS3 for four years and have also worked with CCF in the RAF section for 5 years.

"I believe a good teacher is someone who can relate to students and nurture an effective relationship with them and parents to enrich learning in a disciplined environment."

Before joining the Grammar School, I worked in 3 other schools. My first school was Sutton Grammar for boys, Surrey, where I taught Physics. Whilst at Sutton Grammar for boys, I was responsible for the first XV cricket team. Then I moved overseas to Brunei Darussalam for three years and taught at the British International School as the Head of Science. In Brunei I was also private tutor to Prince Malik (2nd son of the Sultan of Brunei).

On my return to the UK, I taught two terms at Humphrey Perkins in Barrow upon Soar as a Science teacher before joining Loughborough Grammar School.

I believe a good teacher is someone who can relate to students and nurture an effective relationship with them and parents to enrich learning in a disciplined environment. To be able to effectively motivate students to improve their knowledge and understanding of the subject through high quality teaching and challenge.

I also believe mutual respect is vital and the key to enabling children to learn independently through hard work and effort. Then everything is possible.

On Fridays I organise and run the Year 7 Buggy building activity and I also run Robot club every Monday after school for Year 7. Every Friday after school I run the Model Car Club for all year groups. I support and help the Head of Year 7 with the residential trip to Pickering during the summer holidays. I provide religious support to Muslim boys by organising prayer facilities for them, during lunch time every day. I also help the Head of Year 7 with inter form competitions e.g. inter form football and cricket competitions. I also help with the Year 7 Christmas play, Christmas shoe box appeal and the Year 7 summer fete. I am actively involved with departmental enrichment activities.

I believe Loughborough Grammar School provides an all-round education experience for boys of all cultures and faiths. Our boys flourish with the wide range of educational activities that enables them to develop as well rounded, successful individuals. It is an extremely nurturing environment that supports and guides our students to cope with and be successful in the demanding world.

My most memorable experiences at Loughborough Grammar School are : winning the Year 7 Christmas shoe box appeal almost every year and also spending a whole afternoon with all the Year 7 boys looking for a lost mobile phone in an overgrown field on the first day of their residential trip.
