Back to Profiles

Prior to joining Loughborough Schools Foundation I worked in a variety of roles at Brush Electrical Machines Limited (commonly known as “The Brush” by Loughborough folk).

I then spent time raising my family before deciding to go back to work.

I joined the Loughborough Endowed Schools in September 2008, as an Administrative Assistant working for the Finance, Estates and HR Department. I found the work to be interesting, as it was varied and gave me an insight into a broad sector of the Central Services.

HR

Due to the workload increasing in the HR Department, I transferred to work solely for HR in September 2013 as HR Administrator. I quickly became more involved in a wide range of tasks and was able to take responsibility for specific jobs, seeing them through from beginning to end, which was satisfying. I found the knowledge and contacts that I had previously made as an Administrative Assistant useful to my role in the HR Department.

Since joining the HR Department I have successfully complete one year of study towards a professional CIPD qualification, and have just started my second year of studies. At the same time, I have also been developed within the HR Department and have gradually taken on increasingly complex tasks which have ultimately resulted in my being appointed HR Officer in January 2016.

The HR Department is a busy place to work, there is a diverse scope of jobs that need to be done and contact with a variety of people within the organisation. No two days are the same, which is what makes it so interesting.
