Donations make it possible for many pupils across Loughborough Schools Foundation to access educational trips, transforming classroom learning into real-world experiences and lasting memories.
One such pupil in Year 10 at LGS, has a strong thirst for learning and dreams of becoming an engineer. Thanks to philanthropic support, he was able to join his classmates on a history enrichment trip to the RAF Cosford Air Museum in 2025.
During the visit, pupils explored pivotal moments in modern history, including the Cold War, through aircraft, exhibitions, and interactive displays. For this pupil, seeing history beyond the classroom deepened his understanding and made his studies more engaging and memorable.
For his family, the support meant far more than covering the cost of a school trip. With both parents working full-time to support three children, rising living costs make additional educational expenses challenging. This opportunity ensured their son could go on the trip and take part fully alongside his peers.
They shared:
“We felt extremely happy because we knew this was a great opportunity for our child, and once we found out that he could take part in the trip, we felt over the moon. Our child has one of the best educations, and these experiences are helping him learn so many new things that will benefit his life out of school as well as in school.”
The family also wanted to express their thanks for the impact this support has had on their son’s education:
“Thanks to you, our child is getting the full experience of a great education. We deeply appreciate your investment in our boy’s bright future, and we hope you know what a meaningful impact this has on his journey.”
Donations ensure pupils like this Year 10 student can benefit from both academic study and enriching co-curricular opportunities, building confidence, curiosity, and ambition as they work towards their future goals.
