A Big Turnout for the 10-Year Reunion

On Saturday 15 November, we welcomed 130 attendees back to campus for the Class of 2015 10-Year Reunion.

For the first time, the day began with a tour of Fairfield led by Mrs Penny Barton, allowing alumni to relive their younger school days and offering an opportunity to have a look around the new build.

Everyone then headed to their senior school, LGS, LHS or OLCS, for a guided tour. As they wandered through familiar classrooms and hallways, the memories came flooding back and everyone shared their tales and stories, including a time when someones cheesecake was sat on in Sixth Form! The tour also gave alumni the chance to see new developments such as the Parkin Sports Centre and Refurbished Sixth Form Centres, as well as areas once off-limits, like the top of the LGS Tower.

Everyone then gathered for drinks under the LGS Tower, giving the boys and girls the chance to catch up with each other and share what they’ve been up to in the last decade. We were also joined by both former and current members of staff, Paul & Helen Fisher, John Weitzel, Megan Reilly, Mel Starkings, Fiona Miles and James Neville, who the alumni loved to see.

Lunch was then served in Burton Hall, whilst watching a slideshow of their yearbook entries, which sparked plenty of laughter. Spirits were high and the atmosphere was excellent. A particular highlight was the archive tables, where alumni enjoyed spotting themselves in old sport photos and seeing who hadn’t changed.
