Meet your new Alumni Events and Engagement Officer

Jen Leach (FFD 1998, LHS 2005) has been with us in the Alumni and Development Team for just over a month as your new Alumni Events and Engagement Officer.

Get to know Jen!

How does it feel to return to your old school in a new role?
It feels both surreal and exciting. Walking back through the doors felt instantly familiar and like no time had passed at all. The school has such a special place in my heart, and it’s wonderful to be back in a place that shaped so much of who I am. I’ve already bumped into a few familiar faces, and I’m really looking forward to reconnecting with more of my old teachers and alumni as the year goes on.

Can you tell us a bit about what you’ll be focusing on in your role?
I’ll be working on organising events that keep our former students connected to the school and to one another. I have just launched the annual Loughburians’ Dinner, and I’ll be working on it over the next six months, which is incredibly exciting as we are back down in London in 2026 at an absolutely stunning venue in the heart of Westminster. Alongside that, I’ll be supporting alumni reunions and events across the schools, as well as looking at new ways to bring our alumni community together. So if you have any ideas, or would like to arrange a reunion for your year group, please do get in touch (j.leach@lsf.org).

What are you most looking forward to in the months ahead?
One of the things I’m especially excited about is the Centenary Tableaux celebrations at LHS. I took part myself back in 2004, and I can’t wait to experience that magic again from a new perspective. I’m also really looking forward to meeting the alumnae returning to take part in the special alumnae scene, it’s going to be such a memorable moment and was always a highlight of my school year.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
When I’m not in the office, you’ll usually find me crocheting, doing arts and crafts, tending to my garden, or heading out on adventures in the woods and Bradgate Park with my five-year-old son. If I do ever get a quiet moment, I love relaxing with music, a book, and good coffee (or a nice bottle of red wine!)

Any fun fact you’d like to share with the community?
I absolutely love all things rainbow coloured. My home is incredibly bright and colourful, and I often wear some wonderfully funky outfits too. After wearing the all grey LHS uniform for seven years, I’m definitely making up for the lack of colour now that I’m an adult! I can safely say I have never worn another pair of grey tights since 2003!
