LSF Governor Update

,

As we begin a new term, we extend our gratitude to the outgoing Foundation Board Chair, Roger Harrison (LGS 1992), who has guided us with commitment through a time of  considerable change.

We are delighted to welcome his successor Simon Leese (Former LGS Staff 1981-2003). Simon has a longstanding relationship with the Foundation and will already be familiar to many, having been a teacher at the Grammar School as well as Head of Sixth Form, before becoming Headmaster in schools in both New Zealand and Malaysia.

Joining him on the Board are several new Governors:

  • Dr Yvonne Carlisle, recently retired from Nottingham Business School, offers extensive experience in international education and academic leadership.
  • Richard Bailey, a Foundation alumnus and local business owner, contributes a strong background in agriculture, governance, and community engagement.
  • Piers Harris, a former investment banker and LGS alumnus, adds strategic insight and mentoring experience from his global career in finance.
  • John Wood, a solicitor and Partner at Knights, brings legal expertise in education and employment law.
At the same time, we bid farewell to a number of Governors: Rowena Limb, Ann Clark, Sarah Gowers Cromie and Sister Celine Leydon. Their dedication and service have been greatly appreciated, and we wish them every success for the future.
