Supporting Students on Their Journey to University
Sarra Jenkins, Director of Future Pathways for Loughborough Grammar School and teacher of Politics at The Loughborough Schools Foundation, recently saw her article, Supporting Students as They Move to University, published on the Higher Education Policy Institute (HEPI) website.
This article is the third publication of Sarra’s to appear on the organisation’s website and is an amazing achievement.
In reaction to the publication, Sarra notes that,
“It is always amazing to see your work in print, especially by such renowned organisations as the Higher Education Policy Institute. I feel passionately about preparing students for all facets of university and included lots of advice in this article. As students now look to the final stages of making this big move, my one big piece of advice would be to grab every opportunity they can – no opportunity is too small, and even if you don’t like it, you’ll definitely learn something from it!”
In the piece, Sarra gives her advice to students about to embark on their university journey. From preparing the logistics of living away from home to getting ready for a different learning environment, the work covers a wide range of advice that students would find valuable ahead of this new experience.
