Queen’s Park Visit

The Pioneers children have been really enjoying taking part in a variety of activities and sessions with the Reception children at Loughborough Amherst School. This month’s activities included an autumnal walk to Queen’s Park. The children had fun in the play area, where they were able to explore their large motor skills, through climbing, sliding and jumping on the various apparatus. They managed to have a good long play before the rain came. After play time they explored the park looking for signs of autumn, and the children were very excited to find the birds in the aviary. They really enjoyed looking at their beautiful colours and listening to the birds’ song.

Under the cover of a big tree the children sang some songs with gusto and used their tick sheets to mark off what they had seen or collected; the autumn display in The Nursery will be amazing.

The walk concluded with more songs and a delicious picnic consumed whilst sitting in the park bandstand, the perfect way to end the morning before returning to The Nursery.
