A Splash of Fabulous Fundraising

On Friday 2 February, Mr Mubarak Sheikh was presented with a cheque for £3383.73 for his charity <em>Penny Appeal.</em>

Earlier in the year Mr Sheikh’s <em>Penny Appeal</em> was selected by the School Council as the charity that the School should support this year. The charity set Mr Sheikh the challenge of raising £5,000 and to begin with he wondered how he would ever achieve it. The money raised will enable the charity to establish a deep water well in Gambia.

Thanks to the support of pupils, parents, School staff and of course the staff Fundraising Committee he has today achieved the £5,000 challenge.

He said, ‘I’m overwhelmed by how supportive and helpful everyone has been, asking me how I’m getting on and contributing to events. Thanks to everyone’s support at a range of different activities including a cake sale, non-uniform day, the charity breakfast and a staff quiz night – we’ve made it! Now all I’ve got to do is run the London Marathon in April.”
