A team of inspectors from the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) examined every aspect of school life at Fairfield Prep School, Loughborough Amherst School, Loughborough Grammar School and Loughborough High School in November 2024, following which the Foundation was delighted to have met the criteria of each of ISI’s key inspection areas.

The ISI reviewed each School independently and rather than giving an overall grading, the new framework for inspection, which was released in 2023, focused on reporting in the areas of Leadership, management and governance, Pupils’ education, training and recreation, Pupils’ physical and mental health and wellbeing, Pupils’ social and economic wellbeing and contribution to society and Safeguarding.

Described as “a nurturing and inclusive environment where pupils are valued and supported to achieve their potential”, Fairfield was proud to see the warm and welcoming nature of the School highlighted.

The tight-knit, family atmosphere of the School shone through in Loughborough Amherst’s report, “leaders listen to the voice of pupils. This fosters a sense of belonging, positive attitudes to learning and respectful behaviour”.

Loughborough Grammar School was proud to see inspectors recognise the School’s commitment to preparing its pupils for life beyond school: “Pupils develop self-assurance and by the time they leave school they are ‘world-ready,’ in line with the school’s aim.”

At Loughborough High School, inspectors particularly noticed the positive learning environment its pupils are immersed in day-to-day,:“leaders encourage pupils to develop self-confidence, self-esteem and resilience in the classroom and co-curricular activities”.
