Art is one of the options available in Year 9 when more time is dedicated to theoretical and cultural studies and refining skills. Fine Art is offered at GCSE and Sixth Form and these courses involve a rich and diverse curriculum of personal research projects which teach art criticism and encourage conceptual thinking.
"Discipline in art is a fundamental struggle to understand oneself, as much as to understand what one is drawing"
Students engage in a wide range of specialist practices and work is regularly exhibited. Co-curricular opportunities for all tastes and ages are available as well as open studios for seniors after school and dedicated Sixth Form studio spaces.
