The LHS PFA Nearly New Uniform Shop

Did you know that we have a Nearly New Uniform Shop that is run by our Parents and Friends Association? After a long closure due to the pandemic and a complete change of management as our previous long-standing, dedicated group of volunteers (led by the amazing Yvonne) moved on to pastures new, the shop reopened in February.

The shop sells all items of LHS uniform (including peripheral items such as lab coats and cookery baskets). The items come from families who no longer have any use for them but want to see these high quality, like-new items recycled and find a second home rather than just end up in landfill. Some items are straight donations – all sale profits go to the PFA – and some are donated on a shared profit basis – the seller receives half of the sale price and the PFA the other half.

Currently, as the shop and fledgling volunteer group find their feet, we are trying to open the shop once a month at the weekend. Our two opening mornings so far have proved very popular and very profitable – we have had around 40 families visit, we have sold 130+ items and raised over £1000 for LHS PFA funds as a result of sales. The shop has also been a great opportunity for families to meet each other and share uniform tips.

Keep a look out for future open weekends, advertised through school mailings. We will seek to open more often during the week too if there is demand and sufficient volunteer availability.

Interested in selling via the shop or just donating items? Or would you like to help out? Please do get in touch via high.pfa@lsf.org. We are always looking to increase our stock and value your contributions.

Want to know more about the LHS PFA? All those who consider themselves parents of current students, parents of former parents or a friend of the School are welcome members of this extended community. The PFA organises social events and supports School events/initiatives whilst at the same time raising funds for the benefit of the School. Please do come along to our AGM on Monday 16 May at 6.30pm in School. This will be a social event as well as an opportunity to see how you might want to get more involved and to share ideas.
