U17 Cross Country
Year 11, Indienne, in pouring rain and extreme muddy conditions, began the 2nd Leicestershire and Rutland Schools’ U17 Cross Country league race at Prestwold, with an explosive sprint to take the lead within 50 metres of the start.
She then pulled away from the field of runners, keeping out of trouble, allowing her to concentrate on navigating the extremely slippy and wet course, while behind her, runners were falling, slipping and losing their shoes as the heavens opened!
As Indienne approached the end section of the race smothered in mud, frozen and soaked she still managed to sprint finish the last 100metres, taking the tape in first place and winning the race by over 200 metres!
This was an incredible race in very difficult conditions and we congratulate Indie on this amazing achievement!
